On Monday morning, UnidosUS Action Fund, the political arm of UnidosUS—the nation’s largest Latino civil rights organization—will officially endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president. Rafael Collazo, Executive Director of UnidosUS Action Fund, shared the announcement with CBS News on Sunday.
“Unidos Action Fund is thrilled and proud to endorse Vice President Harris for president of the United States,” Collazo stated. “We believe she is the right leader for this moment, not only to communicate the benefits of this administration but also to share her vision for the future and how a Harris administration will create more opportunities for the Latino community.”
Collazo highlighted the disconnect many Latino voters feel, noting that while most do not want to vote for Trump, they lack sufficient information about Vice President Harris’s contributions and her vision for the future. He emphasized the need for more outreach and education to inform Latino voters about the gains made under Harris’s leadership.
“There is a lot of energy today,” Collazo said, “but there’s also a lot of work to do.” He pointed out that Latino voters are eager for substantial information, expressing frustration with a campaign season dominated by debates and drama. “But now we’re going to listen to substance,” he concluded.
