Fans have been left dreaming at the prospect of seeing Steph Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo team up in the future after spotting a moment between the pair.
The Golden State Warriors visited the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night at the Fiserv Forum in the second part of their back-to-back schedule.
Curry was handed a well-earned rest by coach Steve Kerr after revealing he was ‘exhausted’ playing for the Warriors, while Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with a 33-point performance, including nine rebounds and five assists.
After the game, two NBA stars took a moment to catch up and the cameras spotted the moment where they shared a heartwarming embrace – and fans at home were the first to take note.
It is no secret that the Warriors have struggled to replace Kevin Durant in the forward position since he departed in 2019, and it is only natural that Antetokounmpo has been tipped with a potential link-up with Curry in the future.
The 29-year-old carries a massive presence on the court and the way he drives with the ball would suit Curry’s style of play and off-the-ball movement.
The prospect of them teaming up may not be realistic as Antetokounmpo signed a three-year, $186million extension in October. But that hasn’t stopped Warriors fans from dreaming of capturing the Bucks star, who won MVP in 2021 when they clinched the NBA title.
On social media, users on X – formerly Twitter – struggled to stop themselves getting carried away, asking: “If only these two would pair up.”

The 2017 NBA All-Star was the first of many that showcased Antetokounmpo and Curry on the floor together, with the Greek’s vicious dunks stealing the headlines as they played against each other.
Curry decided to pick him for the 2018 team and from there, their bromance grew. It had gotten so bad that Curry had become a viral highlight featuring Antetokounmpo’s violent put-back dunks that he decided to pick him in the 2018 All-Star West team.
The 2022 All-Star team also saw the two pair up together again, where Curry won the All-Star MVP dropping 50 points, breaking Anthony Davis’ existing record of 48 points.
It gave a genuine view into what their partnership could look like, but for now, basketball fanatics must settle for one game a year.
