Novak Djokovic has impressed fans over the seasons with a wide array of his phenomenal racket skills and techniques on the court. Now, the 24-time Grand Slam singles champion has captured the attention of the whole tennis community once more, albeit in a role that he has never played before.
The Serbian tennis legend, along with some other household figures on the circuit, was sighted showing off his brilliant acting skills in a video shared by the top-tier tour for men. While dropping his reaction to ATP’s hilarious parody sketch on social media, Djokovic recently made fun of his semifinal defeat at the Australian Open.
The newly released spoof series titled ‘The Tour: A Reality Show’ plays on the idea of the tour being a made-up reality show as it features the likes of the Serb and his colleagues, Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev, and Taylor Fritz. In a viral five-minute video clip uploaded on Twitter, the ATP superstars can be seen hilariously revealing themselves as actors simply portraying the players on tour, who get a script at the start of every year to enact.
While retweeting the hilarious parody sketch, the Serbian tennis star tweeted, “Normally the writers start the season with my character Novak winning the Australian Open title. So, for anyone that doesn’t like the beginning of this season, please contact the director 😂😂 @atptour.” As he made fun of his defeat at the hands of Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open, Djokovic jokingly suggested that fans dissatisfied with the alteration in the typical storyline should take their complaints to the director of the tour’s reality show.
The 24-time Grand Slam singles champion, who portrays himself as actor Bert Critchley, can also be seen pulling off his famous ‘Hulk’ move that made headlines at the Cincinnati Masters. Djokovic was sighted ripping off his shirt while shouting in front of a mirror before he threw it down on the floor and walked out of the washroom.
