Nick Kyrgios is adding another string to his bow at the Australian Open after pulling out of the tournament injured. The former world No. 13 was recently announced as one of Eurosport’s on-site commentators for the event. And he will now be interviewing Novak Djokovic on Rod Laver Arena for a new podcast, which is also set to feature the likes of Naomi Osaka and Gordon Ramsay.
Kyrgios is missing the Australian Open for the second year running as he continues to battle injury setbacks. The 28-year-old pulled out in 2023 to have knee surgery but only played one match all year, losing in Stuttgart and picking up a new wrist injury. The physical issues have kept him out of action ever since, though that hasn’t stopped the Australian from finding new jobs in tennis.
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist will join the Eurosport team at Melbourne Park as a pundit over the next fortnight and has already dabbled in commentary, appearing on Tennis Channel during the ATP Finals. But his work will begin before the tournament has even started, as Kyrgios is set to join the Australian Open draw ceremony before interviewing Djokovic on court.
Kyrgios will commentate on the live Australian Open draw when it is made at 1pm local time (2am UK time) on Thursday, which will be broadcast on YouTube. He will then turn his attention to his new podcast, Good Trouble, as he is set to record a live episode with Djokovic later in the evening
The 10-time Australian Open champion will contest a charity match with Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari and Stefanos Tsitsipas on Thursday night and Kyrgios will join him on Rod Laver Arena afterwards for an interview. It comes a year after Djokovic and Kyrgios played their own pre-Australian Open exhibition match on the same stage – the only outing that the 28-year-old got in Melbourne before withdrawing.

Kyrgios’ interview with Djokovic is just the start of his new video podcast series, which is the product of Naomi Osaka’s Hana Kuma production company, which she co-founded with long-time agent Stuart Duguid. Kyrgios is already signed to Evolve, the management company also created by Osaka and Duguid.
The four-time Major winner will feature in an episode of Good Trouble, with Frances Tiafoe also set to be interviewed by his rival. Gordon Ramsay, Jemele Hill, Jay Shetty, Rainn Wilson, Gary Vaynerchuk and Mike Tyson are among the other guests slated to appear on Kyrgios’ new podcas
