Mick Schumacher Hopes For A Comeback In F1 Via Mercedes By 2025
Lewis Hamilton’s switch to Ferrari has certainly sparked a lot of buzz in the world of racing. It also catalyzed a shake-up in the lineup of other teams going to 2025. Mick Schumacher hopes to benefit from the departure of the Mercedes star driver in his quest to get back on the Formula 1 track.

Schumacher has been on the sidelines last season after he was let go by Haas after the 2022 season. However, he has proven himself to be very reliable as a reserve driver and representative of Mercedes F1 in various events. The son of the legendary Michael Schumacher was acknowledged by his current team, including Team Principal Toto Wolff, for his various inputs in their cars in his post as a simulator driver, too.

With Hamilton jumping ship in 2025 to the Prancing Horse brand, Schumacher eyes to fill up the seat he will be leaving behind. He believes that having worked with the seven-time champ and George Russell has given him an opportunity to develop himself for his potential return on the F1 grid.

I’m still keeping an eye on Formula 1 and hopefully the dream will come true again,” said Schumacher in an interview with Sky Sport Germany. “But in the end, it’s important that I also do my things and see my role as a reserve driver – and especially my role as a WEC driver in the foreground.”

“If I perform well, let’s see where it takes me,” he assured.

It should be noted that in addition to his stint as a reserve in Mercedes F1, Schumacher will also be competing this year under Alpine at the World Endurance Championship (WEC). However, his primary goal is to compete once more in the top racing organization where his father became so successful, which he consistently made clear in past interviews.
