Mick Schumacher and his devastating admission on Michael’s health has gotten off..

Michael Schumacher has been out of the public eye for close to a decade after suffering what was life-changing injuries in a skiing accident in 2013.

Viewed by many as the greatest F1 driver of all-time, Schumacher dazzled fans with his performance on the track en route to seven world titles.

However, after retiring for the second time in 2012, his life and that of his family would forever be changed while skiing in the French Alps in December 2013.

That’s when Michael went off-track and fell and hit his head, resulting in life-changing injuries. The German spent weeks in a medically-induced coma and months in hospital before returning to his home in Lake Geneva.

Since then, he’s stayed there with his wife Corinna, his family and a team of medical staff, though health updates have been scarce. Corinna has maintained privacy over Michael‘s health, with only close family and friends given details on his condition and few public comments made.

“We have lost a megastar of our sport who gave so much enjoyment to a lot of people,” said former F1 driver and teammate Johnny Herbert earlier this year.

“It was very sad that Mick couldn’t have his dad around and it is sad that we as an F1 community don’t have him around the paddock. It is a shame.”

In a 2021 Netflix documentary, son Mick noted that he would give up everything to be able to talk motorsports with his .

“I think dad and me, we would understand each other now in a different way now,” said Mick. “Simply because we speak a similar language, the language of motorsport. And that we would have so much more to talk about.

“That’s where my head is most of the time. Thinking that it would be cool that would be. I would give up everything just for that.”

Corinna added: “I miss Michael every day. But it’s not just me who misses him. It’s the children, the family, his father, everyone around him.

“Everybody misses Michael, but Michael is here – different, but here. He still shows me how strong he is every day.”

One person who is given information on Michael‘s health is prominent F1 journalist Roger Benoit.

However, his recent comments suggest there are few positives when it comes to his condition.
