Michael Schumacher’s former F1 rival says ‘nobody talks’ about star’s health situation

Michael Schumacher’s health is kept tightly under wraps by those close to him and his former rival in the paddock, Jacques Villeneuve, has admitted no one talks about his condition

However, every great needs an even better rival, and Schumacher had the Canadian star Jacques Villeneuve. One of F1’s most famous chapters played out between the pair as Villeneuve snatched the 1997 Drivers World Championship in Jerez.

Schumacher was placed into a coma after a skiing accident in 2013, and his condition has been kept under wraps by those close to him.

Speaking to BetIdeas, he continued: “I am not sure [what he’d do in retirement]. When he went away from F1 the first time he stayed away and rode motorbikes. So would he have actually been around the paddock if he hadn’t had his accident? Or would he have preferred something else and let his son race and not overshadow him?
