Former Tennessee guard Santiago Vescovi has signed a two-year contract with Spanish professional team BAXI Manresa, the club announced Thursday morning.
BAXI Manresa competes in Liga ACB, Spain’s top basketball league, and also participates in the Basketball Champions League, where elite teams from across Europe face off regardless of their home country. Last season, BAXI Manresa finished eighth out of 18 teams in Liga ACB, securing the final playoff spot. The club has a single championship title from the 1997-98 season and has struggled in recent years, making the playoffs only three times this century and exiting in the quarterfinals each time.
Vescovi moves to Spain after a successful five-year career at Tennessee. The left-handed shooting guard earned First Team All-SEC honors in both his junior and senior seasons. During the 2021-22 season, Vescovi averaged 13.3 points per game, shooting 40% from three-point range. In the following season, he averaged 12.5 points with a 37% three-point shooting percentage. However, in his super senior season, Vescovi’s offensive performance dipped, averaging 6.3 points per game and shooting 33% from beyond the arc. Despite this, his defensive skills and basketball IQ kept him in Tennessee’s starting lineup.

Vescovi ranks high in several Tennessee basketball career stats, including fourth in made three-pointers and second in assists-to-turnover ratio. Before signing with BAXI Manresa, he played with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Summer League, averaging 3.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game.
