Two exceptional timepieces from renowned F1 driver Michael Schumacher’s personal collection will be going under the hammer at Christie’s upcoming Rare Watches Live Auction.
The first is a white gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph that was commissioned by Schumacher’s early mentor at Ferrari, Jean Todt. It was gifted the F1 champion to commemorate his 6 victories then. Spotlighted on the dial are bespoke details on its subcounters, which include Ferrari’s horse emblem, a depiction of Schumacher’s iconic red helmet as well as six star motifs to represent his wins.
Also in the vein of F1 memorabilia, the unique F.P. Journe Vagabondage 1 Model timepiece was a gift to Schumacher to celebrate his seventh F1 World Championship victory in 2004. Its dial boasts a fierce Ferrari red dial with motifs that nod to the champion, all encircling the partially open 18k gold movement.
