Chase Elliott calls out Dale Earnhardt Jr., challenges him to race Super Late Model

Chase Elliott has a challenge for Dale Earnhardt Jr. who continues to compete despite retiring from full-time racing nearly seven years ago. On the latest episode of the Dale Jr. Download, Elliott asked Earnhardt when is he going to race a Super Late Model since he’s getting into Late Model racing.

“I guess I have to do that one, right?” Earnarhdt said. “I wonder where Chase thinks I should run? I’m pretty close and tempted to running a Pro Late Model in the CARS Tour. I probably maybe look into doing that next year. Maybe the Pro, go race the Pro. That’ll be a bit closer toward the Super Late Model that he wants me to run and they trying to find a race where I can go run a Pro or a Super Late Model that might be at a track that I would really enjoy.

“Those things are fast. I’ll have to see how [Kevin] Harvick thought his run went this past weekend at Five Flags and what he would do differently. I don’t know if I want to go there and race right out of the gate in my first Super, so maybe somewhere else. I like slick worn-out. I’ll probably call Bubba Pollard and say ‘Bubba, what’s the slick worn-out old short track that I can go to?’”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. explains the differences between a Late Model and a Super Late Model stock car
Earnhardt then explained the differences between a Late Model, Pro Late Model and Super Late Model stock car. “A Late Model stock car is a standard chassis. It’s not standard at all,” Earnhardt explained. It’s like a Cup chassis or an Xfinity chassis where the frame rails are out towards the door. A Super Late Model is offset. The right side frame rail from the rear all the way to the front is straight. There’s the door bars and everything are all brought in. Everything’s offset and a lot of left-side weight. They have a lot more power, a little more motor
