Buffalo Bills outside linebacker Von Miller has received a four-game suspension without pay for breaching the NFL’s personal conduct policy. This decision means Miller will not participate in games until he is eligible for reinstatement on October 28, following the Bills’ Week 8 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
The suspension stems from a serious incident that occurred on November 30, 2023, when the then-34-year-old Miller voluntarily surrendered to authorities in suburban Dallas. He faced allegations of third-degree felony assault against a pregnant woman, an offense that could result in a prison sentence ranging from two to ten years and a fine of up to $10,000. After his arrest, Miller was released on a $5,000 bond. The alleged victim, with whom he has been in a relationship for seven years and shares two children, did not pursue charges against him. Miller later expressed to reporters during training camp that he believes the matter is resolved, based on the guidance from his legal team.
Despite the legal troubles, Miller has remained active on the field, having played in all four games this season and achieving three sacks. As the Bills, currently standing at 3-1, prepare to face the Houston Texans this Sunday, Miller’s absence will likely be felt as the team looks to maintain their momentum.
