Grigor Dimitrov is truly a man for his people. The Bulgarian heartthrob, currently playing in the Open 13 Provence made his way into the last 8 of the tournament with a recent win over Sebastian Korda. Despite bagging a major win, something else stole the show. After winning the match, the 32-year-old superstar took a moment to sit back and celebrate his win with a fan who watched him all the way along. This was something that even legends like Novak Djokovic could not stop themselves from praising.
The Serbian superstar, in his recent Instagram story, came ahead and had a short yet powerful three-word message for his rival. Dimitrov, who won the match stole everyone’s heart with his unique gesture.
In a recent revelation, Grigor Dimitrov scored both a match victory and hearts when he took a post-game selfie with a thrilled fan. While no one expected this to happen, it was a wholesome moment in itself. The sweet moment caught the attention of fellow player Novak Djokovic, who shared it on his Instagram story.
He suggested that the whole moment was very beautiful in itself. “Beautiful Moment Bratko,” said the Serbian. Djokovic’s use of ‘Bratko‘ adds a friendly touch, showing the affection and the love that the players have with each other.
After securing the win, Dimitrov suggested that the first set was pretty amazing for him as he did exactly what he wanted to do. However, in the second set, he suggests that he had to find his way back into the game to secure the win.
“I think the first set was amazing,” said Dimitrov in his on-court interview. “Honestly, whatever I was touching was getting to the right place and in matches like that sometimes it is very difficult to maintain it throughout the two sets.
“In the second he had one look, and he took it. The game he broke me, amazing returns and just amazing play overall. So he kind of took the ball away from my racquet, and I had to find a way to get back.”
