Mick Schumacher has posted an emotional birthday message to his father Michael. Schumacher Sr turned 55 on January 3 but his wellbeing is kept private by his family, with only an exclusive circle of acquaintances able to visit the Formula One legend
Schumacher suffered life-changing injuries in a skiing accident in December 2012. He was placed into a medically induced coma and has since lived at his family’s mansion in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Fans are offered very rare glimpses into Schumacher’s life. However, his son Mick has shared a touching old photo of the pair to celebrate his father’s birthday.
Schumacher Jr – who participated in F1 for Haas in 2021 to 2022 and as Mercedes’ reserve driver last year – shared an image of the pair from when he was young. The duo are both seen wearing their racing helmets, with Michael looking proud of his son.

n a rare 2021 interview, Schumacher’s wife Corinna – who strictly limits who can visit the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver – tearfully opened up on the entire family missing him.
“I miss Michael every day. But it’s not just me who misses him. It’s the children, the family, his father, everyone around him,” she said in a documentary about Schumacher’s life.
“Everybody misses Michael, but Michael is here – different, but here. He still shows me how strong he is every day.”
Former Ferrari team principal Jean Todt is one of the few non-family members who has been allowed to visit Schumacher. The Frenchman, 77, revealed that his friend is no longer the same person who graced F1.
